Wasco will be hosting the 48th Annual Wasco Festival of Roses on September 8 through September 10.
Wasco, and the surrounding area, is home to nine major rose companies that produce and market a wide variety of roses. The festival is held each year to celebrate this major local agricultural industry. There are a variety of activities and attractions for the entire family beginning with the Rose Queen Pageant on Thursday evening followed by An Evening of Wine and Roses on Friday evening.
Saturday's attractions include a parade, 2.5/5K fun run/walk, outdoor art and craft fair, rose bush sales and bus tours of the rose fields, and a children's rose arrangement competition.
The theme this year is "Roses for Heroes", recognizing the individuals who often risk their lives to protect and serve others as well as those who have made substantive contributions to those in need.
