BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Arvin Color Guard team took home the silver at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. The team had already won the WGI Western Championships in Las Vegas in March.

A homecoming celebration was held for them at Arvin High School when they returned on Sunday, April 7. Families and community members congratulated the team while 'We Are The Champions' by rock band Queen played in the background.

The team posted this message to their Instagram:

"WGI World Championships Silver Medalist: Arvin Color Guard

Thank you to all who helped, supported, guided, motivated and inspired us. This won’t be possible without YOU! Thank you! This win is not just for us but for you, our family and friends, our school, and our communities. We brought you all with us. We are thankful! We are grateful! We are blessed!

And now, onto Scholastic World."
