UPDATE (December 11, 2017 1:15 p.m.): Ed Komin, acting police chief for the Kern High School District said that officers have cleared the entire school and that no gun was found on campus.  Komin said that there was no threat of any sort toward Arvin High School.

UPDATE (December 11, 2017 11:55 a.m.): Garden in the Sun Park will be the staging location for parents of students at Arvin High School.

Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies were sent to Arvin High School after the school was placed on lockdown. 

At about 10:45 a.m. Monday, officials said a person was possibly outside of the school with a gun, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office. 

SWAT teams were going into classrooms looking classroom to classroom.
