UPDATE: As of 9:03 a.m., the lockout has been lifted. No cause has been stated at this time.
Arvin High School is currently on a "lockout," a new term to describe a school lockdown due to outside suspicious activity, such as crime in the area. There is police activity in the surrounding areas.
It has not yet been confirmed if Grimmway Academy, a neighboring K-8 charter school, is also on lockout or lockdown.
