Poke, traditionally a Hawaiian staple, has been making waves here on the mainland. Growing more and more popular in southern California over recent years, poke restaurants are popping up everywhere, except Bakersfield.
Owners of Killer Poke, Theresa and Joy, decided it was time to bring this food trend to town and have a restaurant solely offering these tasty bowls.
For those new to the dish, poke is traditionally a rice bowl with raw fish and other toppings. At Killer Poke, you can design your own bowl to your liking. They even have gluten-free options like cauliflower rice and spring mix.
If raw tuna and salmon is not your taste, Killer Poke also has smoked salmon, egg, and mushroom protein options.
You can customize your bowl with as many toppings as you want with no extra charge, except for avocado, that is extra!
Whether you are a poke lover or a new customer, head to Killer Poke to create your own bowl!
It is located at 1002 19th Street in Downtown Bakersfield.
