BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A trio of local student veterans and active-duty military at Bakersfield College will be receiving the Veterans of Foreign Wars Sport Clips "Help a Hero" scholarship.

To date, 1,750 military and student veterans have benefitted from these scholarships from nearly $8 million donated by Sport Clips, its clients and product partners.

These scholarships provide up to $5,000 of assistance per semester and per family to help cover the cost of tuition and fees for service members and veterans.
