In an effort to reduce wait times, the Bakersfield Department of Motor Vehicles will be open on Saturdays beginning this month.
The DMV in central Bakersfield is one of 40 locations around California that will be offering limited services on Saturdays on June 16 and June 23.
The DMV will be open on from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will offer limited services. Behind-the-wheel exams are not offered on Saturdays.
Saturday service is available on the first and third Saturday of each month starting July 7. Saturday appointments can be scheduled up to 90 days in advance using the DMV’s website or calling 1-800- 777-0133.
