The Bakersfield Police Department is looking for help IDing the remains found in the Mill Creek Canal.
On Saturday, December 12, 2015, at about 9:40 A.M., officers of the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 700 block of California Avenue for a report of partial human remains located in a nearby canal. Officers located and recovered the remains with the assistance of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit.

Officials have been unable to determine the race or sex of the deceased but it appears the person was wearing women’s clothing, size x-small. A tattoo, with the word “LEON”, was found on the lower back area of the deceased.
