BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. — Bakersfield Police arrested five people on Super Bowl Sunday, which, according to BACtrack, is one of the drunkest days of the year.

Police departments across the country crack down on DUI patrolling on Super Bowl Sunday, and Bakersfield Police Department has created a special DUI Saturation Patrol to target drunk or impaired drivers.

BPD stopped 15 vehicles, conducted nine DUI Evaluations and impounded three vehicles. One DUI arrest had a prior DUI conviction.

The Patrol was conducted between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m.
