BFD engines heading to assist LACF battle Lake Fire

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Fire Department is sending a type 1 OES Fire Engine and a type 1 BFD Fire Engine to assist the Los Angeles County Fire Department in its efforts against the Lake Fire.

BFD said it will be joining the over 500 firefighters from the Angeles National Forest, LA County and other cooperating agencies battling this fire.

As of Thursday, the Lake Fire has scorched 10,500 acres and is still 0% contained. Several structures are threatened and mandatory evacuations are in place.

The fire was first reported on Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. and is located near Lake Hughes Road just north of Warm Springs.
