BAKERSFIELD, CA. — The Boys & Girls Club of Kern County is participating in Summer Meals Program, a program federally program to provide nutritious meals to students in the summer months.
"At our club, kids have the opportunity to pick their lunch and meal produce," Natalie Martinez, Nutritionist Administrator.
The Bakersfield club has a garden where kids can harvest and build their own meals.
The program gives students an opportunity to eat breakfast, lunch and a snack during the summer while their parents are at work.
