Bakersfield Police has located a possible carjacking suspect thanks to a red light camera.

On September 29, BPD says Jerome Satterfield, 40, of Bakersfield confronted a victim in the 200 block of Coffee Road in Southwest Bakersfield and demanded her keys. According to BPD, Satterfield got in the vehicle and fled. His picture was later captured by a red light camera at Coffee Road and Stockdale Highway.

BPD was able to identify Satterfield thanks to the photo. He was arrested and booked on October 4 for an unrelated offense. Satterfield remains in custody and faces additional charges for his involvement in the carjacking.
