BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department has provided 23ABC with more information regarding the large police presence in South Bakersfield that occurred on Saturday night off of Chester Avenue.

According to police, they were called out to a scene around 10 p.m. regarding a white vehicle.

As police approached, a foot pursuit began, between officers and three black males. During the chase, police found live and used ammunition in the vehicle. The males were arrested on the scene.

A 23ABC News crew arrived on scene and counted at least 30 officers in a neighborhood off of South Chester Avenue and Wilson Road.

BPD says they are not sure if this incident is linked to the shooting that took place at the 3500 block of Pioneer Drive. This shooting left six people injured, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

KCSO says 400-to-500 people were gathered together partying at the apartment complex when shots rung out. The suspects are described as four black men in a white sedan.

BPD is working with KCSO regarding this ongoing investigation. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects or the incident, call KCSO at 861-3110, or if you wish to remain anonymous call the Secret Witness Line at 322-4040.
