UPDATE: The Bakersfield Police Department has released new images of a car that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Stockdale Highway last week.

According to the BPD, new surveillance video taken on July 22nd shows the suspect car turn into the bike path parking area across from CSUB on Stockdale Highway and Don Hart Dr. It then flees the scene thereafter. The new video shows the car to be a gray 2013-2019 Nissan Sentra with minor driver side damage.

In addition, the BPD announced that the images previously released was not involved in the accident, but was directly behind the collision and not involved.

The Bakersfield Police Department has released images of a car wanted in connection to a fatal hit-and-run accident on Stockdale Highway.

According to BPD,three cars were heading westbound on Stockdale Highway last week when one of the vehicles drifted. That vehicle collided with the other vehicles causing one of the vehicles went airborne and landed on top of another vehicle heading the opposite direction.

The vehicle heading eastbound then drove across the center divider before crashing, according to BPD. The driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that went airborne, according to BPD, sustained minor injuries. The driver who initiated the crash fled the scene according to BPD.

The BPD is now asking for the public's assistance in finding the vehicle that initiated the crash. It is described as a 2010 or new silver sedan with tinted windows. It would have very minor driver-side damage.
