Update: According to Caltrans District 6 all lanes on State Route 178 are open and clear following overnight closure due to brush fire.

Highway 178 is closed in both directions due to a brush fire. According to the California Highway Patrol, the fire began around 9 p.m. Saturday night at the mouth of the canyon. The fire has burned approximately 170 acres. No details yet on containment or how long the road closures will last.
