DELANO, Calif. — A candlelight vigil was held in Delano Sunday night, in honor of George Floyd.
Organizers said the vigil is a chance to remember Floyd as well as bring attention to police brutality. During the vigil, protesters knelt silently for nearly nine minutes, the same amount of time that Floyd was held down.
The vigil started at 7:30 p.m. and is taking place in front of City Hall in Delano.
People are encouraged to wear black, bring a candle and a mask and practice social distancing.
