BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol is reporting nearly 60 gallons of diesel spilled on the roadway of Southbound Highway 99, just north of Kimberlina Road, after a big rig struck a metal object.

At the time it is unknown how the spill is affecting traffic. CHP has not yet reported any lane closures.
