The Kern County Fire Department said the grass fire burning to the north of Bakersfield was contained at 203 acres.
The California Highway Patrol reported grass fire east of Highway 65 on S. Granite Road, shutting down traffic near Amberhill Lane.
According to the CHP traffic incident website, three grass fires erupted in the area around 5:22 p.m. Friday.
CHP reported it shut down southbound Granite Rd. and Northbound Amberhill Ln.
