UPDATE: as of 7 a.m. the Tehachapi Unified School District is now CLOSED for the day due to snow and ice.

Two mountain school districts are on a two hour snow and/or ice delay this morning due to a winter-like storm that blew through Kern County last night.

Just after 5 a.m. the Kern County Superintendent of Schools announced both Tehachapi and El Tejon Unified School District will be on a two hour snow and/or ice delay.

We will watch for the possibility of full closures today.

As for the weather, expect highs only in the 30s with blustery winds to 40 mph today, making it feel like it's freezing all day.
