Kern County Coroner officials confirmed on Friday that the unidentified human remains were indeed found in a Mill Creek Canal on December 12th.

Coroner officials said a forensic examination was completed on Thursday and they determined the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
Coroner officials added they are continuing efforts on identifying the remains.
On December 12th, Bakersfield Police officials said that city workers found the remains in a canal near Mill Creek park on the 700 block of California Ave.
