County says there are no plans to cancel Lightning in a Bottle Festival

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Lightning in a Bottle Music Festival is scheduled to return to Kern County Memorial Day Weekend and as of Tuesday, the county said they have no plans to change that.

According to Kern County spokesperson Megan Person, the county has no plans to cancel or postpone the festival.

"Our Public Health department is monitoring the situation closely and will advise us if something changes. In the meantime, we’re encouraging everyone to wash their hands, avoid touching their face, and stay home if they’re sick. Let’s all do our part to keep Kern County healthy," Person wrote in a statement.

The festival kicks off onMay 20 and runs through May 25 at Buena Vista Lake. This will be the second annual event and tickets range from $130 to $3,030, according to LIB's Eventbrite page.

Music acts include Kaytranada, Sylvan Esso, Griz, and Purity Ring.
