DELANO, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner's Office identified the teen killed in a shooting in Delano last week as 16-year-old Abraham Ali Romero.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Ofiice, deputies from the Delano Substations were called out to reports of a shooting on Anita Avenue around 5:37 p.m. When they arrived they found Romero lying in the driveway of a vacant home with a gunshot wound to his throat. He was taken to Kern Medical where he later died from his injuries.

The coroner ruled Romero's death a homicide.
