All 23 police chiefs of the California State University system signed a letter denouncing use of force following the death of George Floyd while in police custody.
In the letter, CSU police chiefs called Floyd's death "deeply disturbing," and said community members are "justifiably outraged."
The letter went on to promise to keep an open dialogue between CSU police and the community. It said police will preserve the right for peaceful assembly, maintain transparency and collaborate with community leaders.
