BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man is dead following a crash Wednesday morning in South Bakersfield, bringing the total number of deadly crashes in Bakersfield to 25 for this year.

BPD said officers responded to the intersection of Hosking Avenue and Monitor Street around 5 a.m. regarding a crash involving two vehicles.

An adult male driver was taken to a local area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
