UPDATE: The Kern County Sheriff's Office has identified the driver of the 2017 Acura as 28-year-old Richard Nunez Sioson of San Diego.
The California Highway Patrol says two men were killed in a head-on crash Tuesday night on Wheeler Ridge Road, south of Valpredo Avenue.
CHP said that a 2017 Acura was heading north on Wheeler Ridge Road and for an unknown reason drove into the southbound lane into the path of a 2008 Honda.
Both drivers were declared dead at the scene, according to CHP. Four passengers in the Honda suffered major injuries and were taken to Kern Medical.
CHP says alcohol or drugs don't appear to a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
