BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A driver that was killed in a four-car crash on westbound SR-58 east of the SR-99 has been identified.
33-year-old Steven Ray Wilkins of Bakersfield was driving a 2010 Ford westbound on SR-58 around 6:30 p.m. on December 30 when he crashed into a 2017 Subaru in front of him. His car then went from the #3 lane to the #2 lane, where it crashed with a 2014 Dodge and was pushed back into the #3 lane and into a 2012 Honda.
Wilkins died at the scene from his injuries.
A postmortem examination determined that his cause of death was blunt force neck trauma and the manner of death was an accident.
