BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — The Emmanuel Lutheran Church has canceled its "Ashes on the Street" Ash Wednesday celebrations this year.

The church said because of COVID-19 protocols like social distancing, they will not be offering "Ashes on the Street" in Downtown Bakersfield Wednesday morning.

The church will still be holding online services. They can be accessed through the Emmanuel Lutheran Church website or Facebook page.
