Future members of our military got a proper sendoff as future marines, army and coast guard members prepared to ship off to basic training.

A farewell ride was organized and met at the recruiting center at Panama Lane and Stine Road on September 24, 2017.

In total, six young men left for training camp.

James Waits was joined by his family, like many other recruits, and was the third generation of military members in his family.

His grandmother Diane spoke to 23ABC about sending off yet another member of her family.

Diane also rode in the motorcade to help send her grandson off. He'll be joining the coast guard recruits and he's just the second person to be shipped off to the coast guard by the recruit riders.
