Dozens of firefighters converged on the Old Golden Hills Country Club near Tehachapi to burn down the club house.
These house burns serve two purposes, to get rid of eyesores and potential fire hazards and to keep firefighters up to date on fire behavior in different environments.
“The structures that we fight fires in are changing, the suppression systems are changing, and the fuels within the homes are changing,” said Captain Tyler Townsend, Kern County Fire Department
In these exercises, fires are started and put out multiple times before the building finally burns to the ground.
