Four dead after vehicle catches fire, 3 identified

ARVIN, Calif. (KERO) — Four people are dead following a crash near Arvin that ended in flames early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

KCSO has identified three of the four, Daniel Marquez, 19 and Nicole Mechelle Price 21 were passengers of the vehicle. Daylin Mannery, 20 was driving.

CHP said the Arvin Police Department were involved in a pursuit with a BMW earlier in the night when they lost track of the car. Arvin Police said the people inside the BMW had reportedly committed multiple burglaries in the Arvin area prior to the pursuit.

Around 1 a.m., CHP officers found the BMW engulfed in flames that had crashed into a dirt embankment at the Herring Road off-ramp near Northbound Hwy 99. Arvin Police confirmed it was the same BMW from an earlier pursuit.

All four people in the car died at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
