Mercy and Memorial Hospitals is hosting free colon cancer screenings this week. 

Colon cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death in the United States, but it is preventable with early detection and treatment. 

Learn more about colon cancer and receive a free screening at Dignity Health's Community Wellness Center at 2634 G Street in Bakersfield Monday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Nov. 4.
