The Governing Board and Executive Director of the Gay & Lesbian Center of Bakersfield announced the hiring of Anne-Natasha Pinckney as its new Advocacy Services Coordinator, as part of the Center's strategic growth to serve the needs of Bakersfield and Kern County's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.
“We’re excited to have Anne join the Center’s staff,” said Jan Hefner, Executive Director. “She
brings a commitment to the Center’s mission, and a passion to promote personal
development and growth for all people. We’re fortunate to be able to work with her.”
In her job as Advocacy Services Coordinator, which began this week, Pinckney will be assisting
with development of the Center’s new RISE program, which will support LGBTQ individuals in
acquiring the tools, confidence, and knowledge to empower them in living authentically and
openly in the ways they wish throughout all aspects of their lives.
Prior to stepping into this new role, Pinckney worked with College Community Services since
2014 as a Recovery Coordinator, working with the severe and persistently mentally ill.
