BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The county's biggest fundraiser of the year, Give Big Kern, said it has raised over $720,000 and there is still time for that number to go up!
Those wishing to donate have until midnight Wednesday to give to Give Big Kern.
Officials said given the coronavirus pandemic changes that have impacted local businesses and residents, they are pleased to see the community still giving.
“This year’s Give Big Kern effort is a testament to Kern County’s giving spirit and the ability of our nonprofit partners to quickly respond to difficult situations,” Foundation President and CEO Kristen Beall Watson said. “We are honored and humbled to be a part of such a worthwhile project.”
Officials said participating nonprofits also received a total of 155,544 pledged volunteer hours through Give Big Kern.
