BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Got the Dot is gearing up its annual high school student leadership sessions. The five-week course aims to educated Kern County High school students on becoming organ, eye and tissue donors.

Lori Malkin, founder of JJ’s Legacy and Got the Dot, lost her son Jeffrey Johns in 2009 after a tragic car accident. Malkin said her passion for educating others from her experience has changed her life.

“We didn’t know his wishes, so it became very passionate to myself, and our family that we educate our community,” says Malkin.
