BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Monday a local cemetery will honor those who have passed during the COVID-19 crisis in Kern County.
Greenlawn Cemetery will place green ribbons along the fences at both of their locations bearing the names of people they served who died from COVID-19.
The tribute aims to memorialize these individuals during a time when officials have restricted the number of attendees at funeral services.
Greenlawn says once the pandemic is no longer a threat they intend on celebrating the lives and legacies of those whose names appear on the fence-memorial.
