The California Highway Patrol confirmed that Highway 178 is back open after an hours-long closure following a semi-truck accident.
According to CalTrans, Highway 178 was closed through Kern Canyon around 2 p.m. Monday due to a semi-truck accident. CHP however confirmed the incident is clear and the highway is back open in both directions.
