BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — There are new details regarding a deadly shooting that happened in Northeast Bakersfield. KCSO has released the identity of the victim.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Jerry Lana Hastings. The shooting happened early Sunday morning in the area of Isla Verde Street and West Columbus Street. Officials say Hastings was found at the scene with gunshot injuries and was listed in critical condition. Hastings was transferred to Kern Medical where he died from his injuries.

The coroner performed a postmortem exam and determined the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
