Bakersfield Police Department has ruled a traffic fatality as an accident after a man was hit by a vehicle in Southwest Bakersfield.

Officials say around 2:40 a.m. on April 4, they responded to the 6000 block of Ming Avenue in Southwest Bakersfield for reports of a hit-and-run.

BPD says 37-year-old Luiz Adame was walking in the roadway outside of the crosswalk when he was hit by a passing vehicle.

An autopsy report has also revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Adame's family told 23ABC they kept him on life support long enough to ensure his organs would be donated.
