KCSO: 40 pedestrians hit and killed in Kern County so far this year

Compared to 34 pedestrians in all of last year

There were more pedestrians hit and killed in Kern County this year than there were in all of 2016, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

So far in 2017, 40 people have been hit and killed in Kern County, compared to 34 people last year.

KCSO said there were also 40 pedestrians killed in 2015.

In 2014, there were 23 total pedestrian deaths. KCSO said there were 37 in 2013.
