BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner has identified the victim of a homicide in Central Bakersfield on Wednesday.
According to officers, a man was found deceased just after 2 p.m. with apparent stab wounds in the area of 300 Union Avenue. After further investigation, BPD found that the victim was involved in a fight with the suspect, 66-year-old James Jordan.
Jordan turned himself in to Bakersfield Police and was arrested for homicide.
The victim was identified as 43-year-old Virdy Lee Jones.
A postmortem examination will be performed to confirm the cause and manner of his death.
