The Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to a possible drowning Saturday night in the Kern River, off of Hwy 178 and Cow Flat Road.

Deputies, along with Search and Rescue conducted their search just after 7 pm, but the victim was not located. They continued their search Sunday morning and located the subject under water around 9:30 a.m.

The unidentified male was pulled from the water and declared deceased. This is the same area where another male went missing last week. It is unknown at this time if the victim found Sunday is the missing male from last week or Saturday night. This is a developing story.
