UPDATE (Oct. 7, 2016, 7:40 a.m.): KCSO has identified the suspect as 23 year old Daniel Hernandez Ruiz. He has been booked into the Kern County jail on one count of murder. He is currently being held without bail.

UPDATE (Oct. 6, 2016, 3:00 p.m.): KCSO has identified 33-year-old Fredy Lopez Perez as the victim of a stabbing early Thursday morning.
He was stabbed by another and died at the scene. His autopsy is scheduled for October 7.

Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death in Lost Hills off Highway 43.
KCSO shared that two men were socializing together at an apartment complex around 4:00 a.m. when they became involved in a fight. The suspect stabbed the other man in the neck. Deputies were called to the scene and found one man dead in the parking lot from his injuries. The suspect had already fled the scene.

About three hours later, a suspect was located several blocks from the homicide scene. He has been detained and is being questioned by homicide detectives.
The victim and suspect's name will be released at a later date.
