BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — After an abundant response from the community back in May, Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services announced it is teaming up with local group Creative Crossings to bring back the Chalk Walk Scavenger Hunt, bringing awareness to Mental Health Awareness Month.

This weekend, Creative Crossings artists will design and create around chalk murals centered around messages of suicide prevention awareness and recovery in both English and Spanish. Then residents can participate in a scavenger hunt throughout the Oleander neighborhood.

The murals will be completed Friday and will be available for view through the month of September. Individuals can view the murals by walking and/or driving through the Oleander neighborhood.

Due to social distancing standards, everyone is encouraged to remain six feet apart.
