BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern Coalition Against Human Trafficking said it is hoping to dispel misinformation regarding human trafficking by hosting a virtual discussion this week.

The coalition will be hosting the discussion titled "The Truth about Trafficking" Thursday evening at 6 p.m.

"In these unprecedented times, we’ve seen an unexpected wave of misinformation and conspiracy theories on the issue of human trafficking sweep across the country," the coalition said.

Through the discussion, the coalition hopes to address some of the most prevalent misconceptions currently impacting anti-trafficking and inform the community more about the work they do locally in Kern County.
