This year, Kern County Fair raised the senior citizen age from 55 to 62.

“We researched other fairs and found that most fairs were at 62+ for a senior," said Kern County Fair CEO Michael Olcott. "With the retirement age changing with social security and the longer life span we made the decision to align our senior age at the gate."

Seniors will still receive an ongoing discount of $9 admission. On Friday, September 23, 2016, seniors age 62 and older will get in free until 4:00 p.m. and parking is free until 4:00 p.m.
