BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — (UPDATE 5:16 p.m.) Kern County Fire said forward progress of the fire has been stopped.
Kern County fire crews are battling a 30-acre grass fire off Highway 58, near General Beale Road, east of Bakersfield.
According to KCFD, the blaze is burning along westbound 58, east of General Beale Rd. Crews are warning that traffic may be impacted in the area.
The California Highway Patrol traffic website reported at least one lane was closed while crews work to put out the flames.
