Kern County Fire making forward progress on "Sheep Fire" southeast of Arvin

ARVIN, Calif. — Kern County Fire crews are making progress on the so-called "Sheep Fire" burning southeast of Arvin. According to KCFD, the fire has burned 260 acres and is at 80% containment.

The blaze Thursday afternoon, in the area of Comanche Point Rd. and Herring Rd.

KCFD reported that they have been able to stop forward progress of the flames.

Firefighters will remain on scene through the night working to increase containment.
