Kern County removed from SCE Power Shutoff Consideration list

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Kern County is no longer under consideration for power shutoffs by Southern California Edison, according to the SoCal Edison Power Shutoff Consideration list.

According to SoCal Edison's website, the counties affected by shutoffs are Los Angeles and Ventura. SCE said shutoffs are affecting 252 customers.

SCE said the counties still under consideration for shutoffs include Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County and Ventura County. SCE said 17,31 could be impacted.

On Tuesday, SCE said up to 6,563 customers in Kern County could be impacted by power shutoffs due to high wildfire risk. The areas under consideration included Bear Valley Springs, Tehachapi and Keene. Those areas are no longer on the consideration list as of 11 a.m. Wednesday.
