BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern High School District has officially voted to name the high school being built in Southeast Bakersfield.
The KHSD Board of Trustees voted Monday evening to name the school being built at Panama Lane and Cottonwood Rd. Del Oro High School.
In October the board decided to postpone a voteon naming the school so that proper names were removed as options. Officials hoped by making the change and delaying the vote, it would allow time for people to send in new ideas.
The school is set to open in 2022.
