KHSD investigating Foothill High teacher for alleged inappropriate use of language

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Foothill High School English teacher Kristian Nielsen has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Kern High School District over alleged use of inappropriate language during a virtual class.

23ABC became aware of the investigation after receiving multiple messages on social media regarding the teacher.

KHSD officials confirmed they were made aware of alleged inappropriate use of language and the investigation is ongoing.

"The District does not tolerate words or actions that are discriminatory to our students or staff. The teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation," said KHSD spokesperson Erin Briscoe.
